HB 1073 was introduced today called the drone bill.

When you are following the Legislation we are watching, and the bill is passed out of the original side that it was introduced in, we will move it to where the bill is currently being debated HB to Senate and Senate to the House side. Example below. HB 1031is now listed on the Senate side because it has passed the House.

House Bills: 

HB 1054: revise certain provisions regarding the possession of firearms on certain vehicles. If passed would allow passengers and operator in a steering wheeled controlled UTV with seats for 4 or more to have their guns loaded and not required to have them cased either. SB 33: authorize the commissioner of school and public lands to sell and acquire certain real property. If passed it is to allow the SPL to buy and trade for access to larger land locked SPL lands. Senate Bills:

SB 63: increase the penalty for a subsequent conviction for trespass to hunt, fish, or trap if passed would increase those penalties for being convicted for second or third time to willful trespass. HB 1024: authorize certain species of game fish to be used as baitIf passed would allow Lake Herring and Sunfish to be used as bait for cat fishing, Passed House to Senate

HB 1031: authorize certain wind and solar easements and leases by the commissioner of School and Public Lands. If passed would allow these types of projects onto public lands. The SD Constitution stipulates that the SPL must try to make as much money as they can to help fund our schools. Passed House passed Senate Comm. Nothing new in the Leg. today. Here is info. on Camo Day.

SDWF Legislative Camo-Coalition Day is set for Monday, Jan. 28,2019 We invite all outdoor enthusiasts and organizations to join us in Pierre. We need your organization and your members in Pierre to show support for our outdoor pursuits and natural resources in South Dakota’s legislative process.

On Camo-Coalition Day, we will gather starting at 7:30 am on the 3rd Floor of the Capital building. We will provide breakfast in both the President’s Lobby behind the Senate and in the Speaker’s Lobby behind the House. When we meet on the 3rd floor, we will organize with name tags for identification, and note sheets explaining legislative bills of interest. Camo-Coalition will be there to organize and guide you to find your own local Legislators that represent you.
